Phantom of Fear
2022-2023

The first time I experienced violence was as a child. My dad grabbed me by the hair and hit the table with my chin. I was 5 or 6 years old at the time. This incident is forever etched in my memory. Since then, I have faced physical and psychological violence many times – first from my stepfather, then from my ex-husband, and finally from various state bodies and threatening officials. And now, since the war broke out in Ukraine, every day I read news about terrible crimes, about the killing of children, women, old people, about the death of my friends and acquaintances on the frontline. Every day I worry about the lives of my children.
