Independent Days Diary is my memory of a time when freedom could be felt with the entire body.
Before phones, before constant visibility, before the need to document everything – we just lived. We moved through the city without maps or fear, trusting in chance, in each other, and in the moment. These photographs were never intended to be an archive. They were fragments of life, captured intuitively, without a thought for the future.
Now, looking at them, I see not only my youth but a collective state of being – a generation that was learning what freedom truly felt like. On the surface, there was lightheartedness, but underneath, there lived a readiness to resist, to choose, and to act.
This book is my attempt to return to that time, not just out of nostalgia, but to understand where our strength comes from. In these images lie the roots of a freedom that later demanded responsibility, courage, and a voice.
They remind me: our longing for freedom did not appear out of nowhere. It has always been with us.
